Corpus Christi Church has been awarded a matching grant of $45,000 from the New York Landmarks Conservancy. This grant, from the Conservancy’s Sacred Sites Program, will partially fund critical restoration of the church’s towers, brownstone facades, and slate roof.

In order to receive the award, the parish must now raise matching funds of $65,000.

News of the Challenge Grant coincides with the church’s recent observance of the 100th anniversary of the laying of the church cornerstone, and its listing on the National Register of Historic Places. All of these events have bolstered the parish’s resolve to continue its revitalization initiatives, both of its faith community and the immediate neighborhood.
