Saint Stan’s Gardens Breaks Ground Tomorrow (10/18) at 1 PM

Another bit of exciting news coming out of Saint Stan’s is that tomorrow ground will be broken at 1 PM to get the ball rolling on the development of new homes around the church.

If you have been following this story, developer Michael McHugh has seen his fair share of obstacles to get the ball rolling…most which had nothing to do with him.

The most interesting aspect of the development is that he is putting up his own money to redevelop…homes will be built only when an individual or individuals fully qualify for a mortgage…no government subsidies…potential homeowners will get a break on their mortgage rate from M&T Bank.  This is far different than what you see with most new housing developments in the city.

Mr. McHugh’s company has been working on renovating St. Stan’s for the last few years.  He really believes in Bishop Grosz’s vision for the community…this is the catayst for his interest in helping redevelop the neighborhood.

Stay tuned…

If you are in the neighborhood tomorrow, stop by Townsend Street behind St. Stan’s rectory at 1 PM.
