Yesterday I got the opportunity to meet Bashar Issa for the first time and go with him on a tour of both the Broadway Market and Corpus Christi Church.
Honestly…I did not know what to expect when I was invited to a meeting with him…the guy has achieved almost rockstar type status in Buffalo with his development plans for the Statler and proposal to build a 40 story building downtown…what I got out of speaking with him and watching him interact with Father Anzelm Pastor Corpus Christi Church and Dick Fronczak Director of the Broadway Market is that he has fallen in love with Buffalo, recognizes the potential of the city as a whole and is always amazed about the hidden treasures he finds each time he comes to our fair city…impressive that he is in tune with what Buffalo is and what it can become…equally impressive is that he loves to learn more about our city and sees opportunity everywhere.
For those of us who believe in Buffalo, it is affirmation.
