Lombard Street Block Club: Taking it to the streets

While cruising around in B-F last night, I chanced upon Rich Maynard.  Rich is the president of the Lombard Street Block Club (LSBC).  He was cutting the grass at the almost completed Lombard Community Garden at Memorial Drive and Lombard Streets.

The LSBC has stabilized their little stretch of B-F between Peckham Street and Memorial Drive and are a fine example of what can happen when people take ownership of the direction in which they want to see things happen on their street.

Rich and I talked for little bit about the things he and the LSBC have done…it all sums up to residents getting involved.

It is these types of B-F stories which build communities and help keep the neighborhood ALIVE…awesome stuff to say the least.
