On Saturday, July 7 at 11:00A.M., Sandy Starks will host the latest in a series of ongoing Savor the Flavor cooking demonstrations and tastings at the Broadway Market. The July event is one of the many activities planned for Buffalo Old Home Week, which takes place from July 1-8.
It’s not unusual for former Western New Yorkers to crave hometown specialty foods like chicken wings and beef-on-weck. With this in mind, Sandy will be showcasing her own version of traditional Buffalo-style wing sauce to be served on chicken wings from Malczewski’s poultry stand. Participants will also sample Chiavetta’s, Rooties, LaNova and Bubbles Q barbeque sauces on freshly grilled steak kabobs. The tasting will also include sage sausage dish served with a mustard sauce with Buffalo’s legandary Weber’s mustard, and a side dish featuring locally made products. Loganberry drinks and chocolate dipped fruit or candy from Strawberry Island will complete the tasting. All products are available at the Broadway Market
