Second wave of tree planting is coming around Central Terminal this weekend…
This is a quote from a post I did back in January about the first wave.
Before a very early meeting at the Broadway Market this morning, I did something I have been promising Yuri Hreschyshyn for a few weeks now…take some pictures of the trees that he and his wonderful group of cohorts planted over the last few months on Memorial Drive and by the Central Terminal.
Re-Tree WNY will focus its third weekend of tree plantings on the area around Buffalo’s historic Central Terminal.
Volunteers will do a double-row planting of 30 trees along Memorial Drive leading to the terminal and will plant 30 more on perimeter roads.
More than 1,000 trees have been planted by Re-Tree WNY member crews since Arbor Day, April 27.
Another planting of several thousand trees will take place in October and November. For information, visit www.retreewny.org.
