One of the keys to addressing this problem is education. As Buscarino points out in her piece, the Local Initiatives Support Group (LISC) is really stepping up and taking on a leadreship role in bringing this problem to the fore…you add what they are doing with the mix of people already working on the issue, the problem is creeping into the public’s consciousness…this is a good thing because it can lead to a comprehensive approach to tackling the large amount of vacant and abandoned properties throughout B-F and the city.
