After someone alerted that the topic on WBEN’s morning talk show was about the East Side and the recent housing developments announced for such, I thought I would tune in to hear one caller after another bash the East Side.
I can’t tell you how pleasing it was when all I heard basically were call after call in support of the East Side and the Broadway-Fillmore area. Sure there were people who called in with the typical “it’s dangerous” mantra, but even the Ron Dobson (the talk show host) was shocked at the amount of positive calls he was receiving.
For people like me it was inspirational… Why? Because it reaffirms what I believe and the work I do in the neighborhood.
There is a deep sense of love and committment from people for the B-F area from all over…people in the neighborhood, people from the burbs and people from afar.
