This exhibition displays thirty-four black and white photographs showing the celebration of Easter at Corpus Christi Church (1943) through the lens of Marjory Collins(1912-1985).  The photos are part of a collection of a project of the Farm Security Administration-Office of War Information Photograph Collection. The images in this collection, which are housed in the Library of Congress, are among the most famous documentary photographs ever produced.
 
The Exhibit will be displayed at the Kolbe Center, located on Clark St in Buffalo, across from Corpus Christi Church near the Broadway Market.  Visitors making their traditional Easter visit to the Broadway Market are invited to visit Corpus Christi Church and the exhibit.  The church and the exhibit will be open April 7- April 15 from 9:00am-6:00pm.  The opening of the exhibit is Friday, April 7 at 4:30pm followed by a 5:30pm concert given by the combined choirs of St. Albert the Great and Ascension churches, North Tonawanda under the direction of Bruce Woody, organist.  Stations of the Cross will be celebrated in English (5:00pm) and in Polish (6:30pm).  The exhibit is curated by Robert J. Fronckowiak, Executive Director of the Polish Cultural Foundation, with technical assistance from Christy May of WNED-TV, producer of Polonia: Western New York’s Polish-American Legacy.
 
Additional items will include a display of more than 20 beautiful handmade Palms, imported from Poland, created from dried flowers and wheat, and an exhibit developed by the Conventual Franciscans who are celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Rosary Hour. The film, Polonia: Western New York’s Polish-American Legacy, will be continuously shown.
 
Fr Anselm Chalupka, pastor, invites the general public to visit Corpus Christi during the Easter season.  The church will be open for prayer and visitation daily.  The Holy Thursday Service, which includes the Washing of the Feet and Procession to the Repository (April 13) is scheduled for 7:00pm. The church will be open for visitation until 11:00pm, concluding with the Pauline Fathers and Brothers singing Night Prayer.  Easter baskets will be blessed from 10:00am until 3:00pm on Holy Saturday (April 15). Confessions will be available.  The Easter Vigil Service, scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at 8:30pm with the Blessing of the New Fire, Paschal Candle and Water will also include the reception of 3 catechumens and 2 candidates into the Church.  The Mass of the Resurrection, with the traditional Procession around the church, will be celebrated at 7:00am Easter Sunday morning, in the Polish and English language.  Following all Easter masses on Sunday those in attendance are invited to the Kolbe Center for the traditional Swieconka (Blessed Easter meal).
