A progressive plan for housing (re)development in the Broadway-Fillmore Area

From Col. Matt Urban Center press release, “The plan includes construction of new homes on city-owned land, the purchase and rehabilitate existing homes that are currently city-owned, and assistance to owner-occupants that are already in the area in learning about programs that will improve their property.

Investments in real estate in the “Housing Opportunities Area” will come from private purchasers directly buying city-owned parcels of land and vacant houses, government-assisted housing programs through the Matt Urban Center, or owner- occupants investing in their own homes.

The preliminary plan was developed over the past six months by the Matt Urban Center, and the City of Buffalo’s Office of Strategic Planning, working in conjunction with various community residents and members of the “Darul-Uloom Al Madania” Mosque.”

The center is also having an open house on the project Wednesday – 03/15 from 2 till 8 PM. It is located at 1081 Broadway.

This is really a great opportunity to help revitalize the B-F Area…
