Rev. Ron Bagienski read a brief statement from the Diocese of Buffalo at Masses indicating that the linkage between St. Stanislaus Church and St. John Kanty/St. Adalbert Basilica was no longer in effect. He also announced he would be pastor at St. John Kanty Parish which includes the oratory of St. Adalbert Basilica. Effective this weekend, he said, Rev. Thaddeus Bocianowski would be the pastor of St. Stanislaus Church.
Tod Kniazuk, a member of St. John Kanty Parish, said Rev. Bagienski was saying Masses there frequently. He was hopeful that with its own priest parish activities could be given “more time and attention.”
Rev. Bocianowski was overseeing St. Stanislaus Parish, St. John Kanty Parish and the oratory of St. Adalbert. Both St. Stanislaus and St. Adalbert have cemeteries. Kniazuk said, “I can only imagine the amount of work it took to manage two fully functional parishes and the oratory and the organizations [which Rev. Bocianowski participated in].”
