NY State Senator George Maziarz has joined the fight to name the new federal courthouse to be built in Buffalo after Lt. Col. Matt Urban, the most decorated American combat soldier of World War II and a native WNYer. In awarding the Medal of Honor to Urban in the late 70s, U.S. President Jimmy Carter had called Urban “America’s greatest soldier.”
