I must admit…I went to the public meeting for the proposed school to be placed in the former Kmart building on the former site of Sattler’s a bit negative on the whole concept. But both Frances Wilson (Cummunity Superintendent for Buffalo Public Schools) and Vivian Evans (Buffalo School Board) did a good job of alleviating some of my fears.

It is easy just to hear the term “alternative school” and think the worst or to just write the project off…both assured people at the meeting that this proposal has been thought of long and hard and with the B-F community in mind and with the idea of partnerships in mind.

The presentation was a reminder to me that I just can’t dismiss any project without examining it.  With that said, it warrants the community to take a serious look at before deciding if it would be good or bad.
