Buffalo’s east side lost a great friend, supporter, author and historian yesterday, Fred Jablonski. I got to know Fred a little bit better over the last couple years, as he would come to our open houses, and we’d set up a table for him to sell and discuss his book about the history of the east side. I just saw him earlier this summer and despite being slowed down by age, he appeared happy and in good health. Fred was a wonderful man and an ardent supporter of our efforts at the Central Terminal. He always had a smile and a good word about what we were doing. Last year, he treated me to a bottle of his homemade wine. It was delicious!
Rest in peace, Fred, my friend. It was an honor to know you. You will be missed!
