I attend the Pulaski Parade virtually every year with mixed emotions\u2026this year was no different.\u00a0 Why the mixed emotions?\u00a0 One part of me enjoys the celebration of my Polish heritage, but another part of me is\u00a0sad because I remember when it was on Broadway in the not too distant past\u2026attending also brings back memories of participating\u00a0in the parade\u00a0as a child and a teen.<\/p>\n

The sad side of my emotional scale really\u00a0peaked when\u00a0the Saint Adalbert\u2019s group and float started to roll on by during the parade.\u00a0 It hit me again like\u00a0a ton of\u00a0roofing material falling off of Transfiguration Church that barring some sort of miracle St. Adalbert\u2019s will probably be gone by this time next year.<\/p>\n

It is sad\u2026another piece of Buffalo\u2019s historic Polonia will fade into the past.<\/p>\n

With that said, there is an effort by current parishioners to save the church.\u00a0 A lot of it is covered in the most current edition of the Am-Pol Eagle\u2026I am zipping an email to the publisher to get an okay to reprint the articles here.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
