I received a call from a mutual friend that Dan Wittkopp of the Lombard St block club passed away..Many in the neighborhood knew what a blessing he was to the community..always helping his neighbors,working with various organizations within the district and being a friend to everyone\u2026<\/p>\n
Lombard St is and will\u00a0always be very special to me and a big reason for that was Dan..I cant think of another person who worked harder in the neighborhood than Dan.. Several weeks ago I stopped over to visit him and he was telling me of his involvement in fixing up a problem property on his street ..no surprise there.. that was Dan..Last summer while on Lombard I stopped by knowing Dan had recently just came home from the hospital and Dan who let nothing slow him down was across the street helping the neighbors paint their kitchen!<\/p>\n
RIP Dan you were an inspiration to not only myself but to everyone who knew you..You will be missed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
