(Deidre Williams \u2013 Buffalo News \u2013 11\/25\/2010)<\/em> Everyone had a specific job Wednesday as the Response to Love Center on Buffalo\u2019s East side prepared for Thanksgiving dinner.<\/p>\n

The maintenance team did the heavy lifting and moved the boxes.<\/p>\n

Another group set up the decorations and table settings for hundreds of expected guests.<\/p>\n

And the carving party \u2014 mostly men \u2014 sliced up 49 turkeys.<\/p>\n

About 80 volunteers from the neighborhood and beyond helped out Wednesday with the sixth annual \u201cTurkey Carving Day,\u201d set aside to prepare the turkey and many of the trimmings the day before Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe get the whole community involved. It\u2019s a community event,\u201d said Sister Mary Johnice Rzadkiewicz, the center\u2019s longtime director.<\/p>\n
