BUFFALO, N.Y. \u2013 September 7, 2010 \u2013 The rumble of steel wheels on rails and the nostalgic sounds of a locomotive steam whistle will once again return to Buffalo Central Terminal during the 2010 Central Terminal Toy Train and Railroadiana Show. The exposition is scheduled for Saturday, September 11th and Sunday, September 12th from 10am to 4pm and takes place inside the Terminal\u2019s historic passenger concourse located at 495 Paderewski Drive @ Memorial Drive.<\/p>\n

Admission is $5 for adults with free admission for children under the age of 12. All proceeds from the show benefit the stabilization and restoration of Buffalo Central Terminal.<\/p>\n

The show features a large assemblage of toy and model train vendors from the Northeast selling trains of all gauges and vintages. A number of purveyors of railroad antiques, DVDs, books, photographs and other associated ephemera known as \u201crailroadiana\u201d will also be on hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is more than just a train show,\u201d says Central Terminal Restoration Corporation President Mark Lewandowski. \u201cIt\u2019s one of Buffalo\u2019s largest celebrations of trains and railroading history. Visitors to the Terminal can expect to see everything from highly detailed scale models to family heirloom Christmas trains and archival photos of area railroads. Historians will be on-hand to tell stories of Buffalo\u2019s once important position as the second largest railroad center in North America.\u201d<\/p>\n
