Buffalo Rising about a large scale local public food venture on the outer harbor<\/a>\u2026I have recently read about other project ideas for local food initiatives around Buffalo.<\/p>\nAll the concepts interesting except for one thing\u2026none considering the Broadway Market for use.<\/p>\n
Why is that?<\/p>\n
We have this 100,000+ square foot market over here in B-F that is screaming for ideas to make it a success beyond the Easter season.\u00a0 Why is it left out of the mix?<\/p>\n
The picture above is from Saturday morning\u2026a prime shopping day and time\u2026what is missing is people.<\/p>\n
Other cities have old public markets in neighborhoods like B-F that flourish.<\/p>\n
What needs to be done to get the community and local entrepreneurs to help engerize and support it?\u00a0 Why don\u2019t we have the local idea people clamoring to help resuscitate it?<\/p>\n
I just don\u2019t get it\u2026is it because it\u2019s on the East Side?\u00a0 Is it doomed\u2026dying a slow death while on Easter life support.<\/p>\n
The Broadway Market should be the hub of everything we love about Buffalo food and more.<\/p>\n
It kills me to walk in on any given day and see it dying.<\/p>\n
Instead of looking to create Buffalo food experiences elsewhere, we need more attention and love placed on this treasure that\u2019s been around since 1888 before it becomes one those numerous places we reminisce about after it is gone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
