Americorps VISTA is working this summer with Schiller Park Community Services on Genesee St. The center serves residents all over the East Side, and provides a safe place for children and youth throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Starting next week, they will be working with the Cheektowaga Youth Department on an urban\/suburban theater camp called \u201cOver the Edge.\u201d The goal of the camp is to create a dialogue between the young people in this ever fluctuating border community. The workshop\/camp runs Monday-Thursday from 5-8pm and is free for all participants.<\/p>\n

The goal was fifteen Buffalo youth (ages 12-18) participants in the workshop. The center has not yet met that goal, and are eager to spread the word of the workshop and get attendance up! It\u2019s a really wonderful opportunity for youths to get experience acting, writing and designing an original stage production- in their own words.<\/p>\n

The camp runs June 28-August 12 Monday-Friday 5:00-8:00 pm. Youth ages 12-18 are encouraged to participate. All activities are free and a light dinner will be provided.<\/p>\n
