First…a special BFA thank you to all the wonderful people at Saint Adalbert’s who made Saturday’s tour a wonderful experience…I am always amazed at how the parishioners there make you feel like you are part of their family and are so welcoming to strangers.<\/p>\n

The tour itself was fantastic…the church has a unique history in B-F.<\/p>\n

The Basilica has a museum room with lots of archival photos and paintings.<\/p>\n

My favorite part of the tour was learning about the history of the dome and why it was repainted from a depiction of Lucifer being cast out of Heaven by God to its current form of angels encircling the structure…well, a former pastor of the church didn’t like one of the custodians…when Lucifer was painted, the pastor asked to have face resemble that of the custodian…wow…that is what prompted a later pastor to have the dome repainted.<\/p>\n

Very interesting…all of it.<\/p>\n

Please support Saint Adalbert Basilica…it is one of B-F’s remarkable treasures!<\/p>\n
