The Buffalo Central Terminal is proud to announce a full calendar of community events and activities, both new and long-standing, to be held on the Great Lawn from July through December. Eight (8) new events are being launched this year including, the Central Terminal Summer Concert Series, Family Movie Night, Health is Wealth, Fall Farmers & International Food Market, Oktoberfest, and Winter Fest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe Central Terminal was always a gathering place for this community. Thousands of people walked through those doors every day and hundreds of people in the neighborhood, in Broadway-Fillmore, worked at the station,\u201d said James Morell, CTRC Board Chair. \u201cThese new events will bridge a piece of Buffalo\u2019s history to our community today, connecting diverse people from all over the region to each other and to this special place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUMMER EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “Central Terminal Summer Concert Series\u201d <\/strong>on our Great Lawn features R&B, Jazz, Soul, and Gospel with local food trucks and community vendors from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The series will be held on Thursday, July 13th,<\/strong> Thursday, July 27th,<\/strong> and Thursday, August 10th<\/strong>, featuring artists Rod Bonner, Flute Johnson, Kimera Lattimore, Jukeboxx, Farrow, Will Holton, Celina Graves, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cShakespeare in the Park\u201d<\/strong> returns to the Central Terminal Friday, July 21st<\/strong> from 7:15pm to 8:30pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFamily Movie Night\u201d<\/strong> on the Great Lawn will feature a kid-friendly movie \u201cZootopia\u201d and theater-style popcorn on Monday, July 31st<\/strong> at Dusk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHealth is Wealth\u201d<\/strong> promotes healthy bodies and minds in our community with a Health & Wellness Day at the Terminal. This day will consist of Yoga, Pilates, Boot Camp Exercises, health & wellness educational vendors, health testing, and community partners. Celebrate your health Saturday, August 12th<\/strong> from 9:00am to 12:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c4th<\/sup> Annual Back to School Giveaway hosted by Leg. Howard Johnson & CM Nowakowski\u201d<\/strong> returns to the Central Terminal Saturday, August 19th<\/strong> from 8:00am to 1:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201c7th <\/sup>Annual Beau Fleuve Music & Arts Celebration\u201d<\/strong> returns Sunday, August 27th<\/strong> for a day of music, arts and culture for all ages from 2:00pm-9:00pm. The Festival Celebration has been a staple event at the Terminal over the years and punctuates a weekend of culturally activated events across Buffalo, bringing a diverse regional draw of music and art lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n FALL EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFall Farmers & International Food Market\u201d<\/strong> a seasonally oriented Farmers & International Food Market will be host to an array of local producers and community vendors. The market will take place on Saturday, September 23rd<\/strong> from 9:00am-12:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cOktoberfest\u201d<\/strong> One of WNY’s favorite times of the year. Enjoy our family-friendly Oktoberfest featuring music, petting farm, pumpkin carving, photog areas, beer & wine vendors and more. To be held on Sunday, October 22nd<\/strong> from 11:00am-3:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cTrunk or Treat hosted by Matt Urban Center\u201d<\/strong> held Tuesday, October 24th<\/strong> from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n WINTER EVENTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWinter Fest\u201d<\/strong> Buffalonians embrace the beautiful winter weather with fun activities\u2014ice sculpture contest, sledding, hot chocolate, festive activities, holiday lights, and music. To be held on Saturday, December 9th<\/strong> from 9:00am to 12:00pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Buffalo Central Terminal has engaged Lindsey Taylor, local event manager and promoter with more than 15 years of experience, to coordinate the calendar of events happening this year on the Great Lawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGrowing up near William Street, it\u2019s a really powerful thing to be a part of bringing that energy and buzz back to the Terminal.
