Funds will be used to correct major systems \u2013 roof, electric, heating, plumbing and other health\/safety issues. Energy conservation work will also be included. To start the application process, stop by BFNHS\u00a0at 780 Fillmore Avenue and pick up an initial intake form, or you may download it at their website by <a href=\"http:\/\/780fillmore.org\/bfnhs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/BFNHS-Home-Repair-Intake-Form-2017.pdf\">clicking here<\/a>\u2013>\u00a0There is a preference for very low-income homeowners \u2013 below 50% of area median income (currently $33,650 for a family of 4), and for low-income seniors (over 62).<\/p>\n<p>The funds are structured as 90% grant and 10% owner contribution. Owners who have no other source of funding for their contribution may borrow the funds from BFNHS at 3%.
