A couple of years ago, a\u00a0wooden cross that marked the grave of Michalina Buczkowska 1898-1914 was\u00a0faithfully restored, and installed at Saint Adalbert\u2019s cemetery on Dale Road Cheektowaga. The restoration project was spearheaded by Edward Kornowski with the generous support of the Polish Community after the cross was found rotted out and fallen over. Fast forward to 2016 \u2014 and a piece of the original cross has been used to help repair one of the Stations of the Cross at Saint Adalbert Basilica. Great story.<\/p>\n

During the 2014 dedication of Michalina\u2019s new wooden cross, smaller crosses made from the original cross were distributed to those in attendance. One of these has been painted gold and used to replace the cross that was missing from the base of the 6th Station of the Cross \u2013 Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus.
