{"id":1768,"date":"2008-06-14T14:48:34","date_gmt":"2008-06-14T18:48:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/2008\/06\/14\/44\/"},"modified":"2008-06-14T14:48:56","modified_gmt":"2008-06-14T18:48:56","slug":"44","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/2008\/06\/44\/","title":{"rendered":"State Education Department to visit Academy School 44"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"8\" align=\"right\" width=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blogs.artvoice.com\/avdaily\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/academy-school-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" hspace=\"8\" alt=\"academy-school\" height=\"225\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 225px\" title=\"academy-school\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-536\" \/><em>(By Buck Quiqley)<\/em> Responding to a May 15, 2008 memorandum sent to Albany by Buffalo Teachers Federation President Phil Rumore, the State Education Department is sending \u201ca team of subject area experts in math, Social studies, reading\/English language arts, instructional technology and technology\u201d to Buffalo for two days this week to check up on Academy School 44.<\/p>\n<p>The SED is proposing a \u201cthree-fold action plan\u201d to increase student learning at the school. Step one \u201cwill include, but not be limited to: observing the teaching and learning process; interviewing school administrators; teachers and non-professionals; and reviewing educational documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Next, curriculum specialists will make specific recommendations for improvements at the school.
