{"id":1766,"date":"2008-06-14T02:02:17","date_gmt":"2008-06-14T06:02:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/2008\/06\/14\/tim-russert\/"},"modified":"2008-06-14T21:39:14","modified_gmt":"2008-06-15T01:39:14","slug":"tim-russert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/2008\/06\/tim-russert\/","title":{"rendered":"Tim Russert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" height=\"339\" width=\"425\" src=\"http:\/\/www.msnbc.msn.com\/id\/22425001\/vp\/25153062#25153062\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I have to admit I was shocked when I heard about Tim Russert\u2019s passing today.\u00a0 My daughter was getting ready to go to work and I was looking for my car keys to give her a ride when the news came over radio.\u00a0\u00a0 I stopped dead and cried.<\/p>\n<p>Tim Russert\u2019s appeal to me and so many others is that he was one of\u00a0us because he\u00a0grew up like\u00a0a lot of us\u2026in a neighborhood not too different from B-F.\u00a0 In this day and age of what we see and what the media passes off as journalism, he was the real deal.\u00a0 He was\u00a0simply more than a talking head.\u00a0 In a lot of ways, he approached his role on \u201cMeet the Press\u201d as if he were asking the questions for the normal and everyday American.\u00a0 Tim Russert often said that he framed his questions based on what his\u00a0dad\u00a0would want him to ask.<\/p>\n<p>He also loved this\u00a0crazy\u00a0city of ours and used his platform to let the world know what great place Buffalo is.
