We planted potatoes this week \u00a0(I guess I shouldn\u2019t say \u201cwe\u201d because I didn\u2019t help at all). \u00a0When we lived on the farm, we planted potatoes every year saving our own seed from year to year; we had an abundance because the soil was so fertile.<\/p>\n

Last year we planted potatoes for the first time in the city\u2026 in the poor soil we have here. \u00a0Between the lack of rain and the lack of fertility the harvest was poor and the quality decidedly non-stellar. \u00a0So we bought seed potatoes again and with the eternal faith and hope of the farmer, planted in soil that has been lovingly tended for one more year. \u00a0It is slightly more fertile than it was last year and, Lord willing, we\u2019ll get rains this year \u2026 so, here we go!<\/p>\n
