Why?  I worry\u2026I worried that no one would show up at the Statler and it would just be one big disaster\u2026when you work on things in B-F, worry is part of the package.  You know what though, I shouldn\u2019t have worried at all\u2026the Statler was ALIVE\u2026ALIVE with what you ask\u2026THE BROADWAY MARKET\u2026there were people everywhere\u2026Market vendors were busy\u2026the Statler looked amazing\u2026this pairing of East Side cool with Downtown cool was a match made in heaven\u2026I literally walked around the Statler lobby and terrace in awe of what was going on.<\/p>\n<p>All the credit I can muster up goes to Bashar Issa\u2026when meeting with him a couple months ago at the Market, he put the use of the Statler on the table as a way to promote next weekend\u2019s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/christmas.broadwaymarket.com\">Christmas Fair<\/a><\/em> at the Market\u2026everything else\u2026today\u2026blossomed out of the offer.<\/p>\n<p>In that meeting back in September, Mr. Issa kept on talking about how each time he comes to Buffalo he discovers a new treasure and included the Broadway Market as one of those treasures\u2026for those of us who work very hard to keep these treasures alive, it was music to our ears.  I guess that is why he knew by offering use of his treasure in Niagara Square to promote B-F\u2019s treasure the Broadway Market would work\u2026so much for worrying.<\/p>\n<p>It was just fun to be part of and really set the stage for next weekend\u2019s Christmas Food Fair at the Market.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks ago Bishop Grosz from St. Stan\u2019s said this when he formally announced the Saint Stan\u2019s Gardens project\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026\u201dIf you are positive and motivated, you are likely to get good results.\u201d and \u201cLet\u2019s stop dreaming and let\u2019s start doing.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That is the truth!!!<\/p>\n<p>Alive\u2026<\/p>\n<p>(<a href=\"http:\/\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/media\/marketstatler.wmv\">Click here to view hi-res Windows Media version of slide show<\/a>\u2026)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I was walking down Delaware Avenue towards the Statler after parking the Byrdmobile near Franklin and Tupper, I got nervous.
