She wants magic.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"The Buffalo News\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/41591_181362508150_3609992_n.jpg?resize=200%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/>And that makes her the ideal protagonist for Torn Space Theatre, the adventurous company whose raw production of \u201cA Streetcar Named Desire\u201d opened Thursday night in the Adam Mickiewicz Dramatic Circle and Library on Fillmore Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the company\u2019s work, especially that of its co-founder and \u201cStreetcar\u201d director Dan Shanahan, lives in an uncomfortable space between dreaming and consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a space where confusion reigns, where images and bits of dialogue that might seem innocuous by the light of day can take on a sinister aspect.
