She wants magic.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"The Buffalo News\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/broadwayfillmorealive.org\/2.0\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/41591_181362508150_3609992_n.jpg?resize=200%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/>And that makes her the ideal protagonist for Torn Space Theatre, the adventurous company whose raw production of &#8220;A Streetcar Named Desire&#8221; opened Thursday night in the Adam Mickiewicz Dramatic Circle and Library on Fillmore Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the company&#8217;s work, especially that of its co-founder and &#8220;Streetcar&#8221; director Dan Shanahan, lives in an uncomfortable space between dreaming and consciousness.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a space where confusion reigns, where images and bits of dialogue that might seem innocuous by the light of day can take on a sinister aspect.
