B is for the Broadway Market

Yesterday a group of eleven RIT graphic and industrial design majors gave their presentation on creating a new identity for the Market.

Under the guidance of  Associate RIT Professor Alex Bitterman, the group focused on re-branding the Market image with a list recommendations covering both the interior and exterior changes to building.  The idea is to bring a cohesive look to the Market on a number of levels.

It was an excellent presentation.

I liked the idea of highlighting the Market’s Art Moderne architectural features…they have become obscured over the years by many uncoordinated changes to the exterior.  Besides what a lot of people think, it can be a beautiful building and it compliments other Art Moderne buildings in the district.

What do you think?

More vendors on the way to the Market…

In addition to the East West Cafe that just opened recently in the Market, a few more are on the way…great news.

Niagara Popcorn is going to set up shop soon.

They currently sell online, but they will be operating out of the Broadway Market come March.

Cuisine Indian South…Vegetarian at the Market…coming March as well!

And Chuckie’s…not only do these guys make a mean Texas Hot Sauce, they are going to open an eatery in the Market with a wonderful menu…opening March as too!

ALIVE!

The Market will always have its roots in its European and Polish offerings, but it needs to diversify what is there…I am excited about the changes and the addition of the above.
