Saint Stanislaus Church Lenten Retreat

Saint Stanislaus Church will host a Lenten Retreat/Rekolekcje Wielkopostne in Polish which will take place April 8 through April 10.

Schedule for the retreat is as follows:

  • Friday, April 8th at 6:30pm. Saturday,
  • April 9th at 11:00am and 6:00pm (Confessions will be heard from 10:00am to 11:00am  and 5:00pm to 6:00pm)
  • Sunday, April 10th at 12:00 Noon and 5:00pm (Confessions will be heard from 11:00am to 12:00Noon  and 4:00pm to 5:00pm)

Retreat will be given by Rev. Czeslaw Krysa. All are welcome and encouraged to participate in preparation for the Resurrection of our Lord.

Lenten Retreats at Corpus Christi

Two Retreats will be offered at Corpus Christi this year, one in Polish, and one in English. Fr. Michael Bortnik, OSPPE,cwill present the Polish Retreat on the theme “Prayer,” March 27 – 30.

The English Retreat will be given by Fr. Robert Martin, March 31 through April 2.

Lenten Soup Suppers at Saint Adalbert Basilica

Join the parish community at Saint Adalbert Basilica for a Lenten Experience that will touch your lives and help prepare your hearts for journeying with Christ toward the joy of Easter.

Each evening begins with Mass at 4:00 PM in the Basilica followed by soup supper and a short Lenten reflection.

All are welcome…young and old alike.

Lenten Talk Series at Corpus Christi

Deacon Michael P. McKeating will give a series of Lenten talks at Corpus Christi beginning on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 7:00p.m. and continuing at the same time for the five following Monday nights.

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.

The topics will be:
●Feb. 22 – What Every Catholic Needs to Know about the New Age Movement.
●Mar. 1 – The “Little Way” of St. Therese of Lisieux.
●Mar. 8 – The “Purgative Way” of St. Teresa of Avila .
●Mar. 15 – Great Catholic Novelists of the 20th Century.
●Mar. 22 – “Charity in Truth,” Pope Benedict’s latest encyclical.

Deacon McKeating has been ordained for 30 years and has served at various Buffalo parishes besides Corpus Christi. He has B.A., M.A., and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Buffalo, and a M.A. degree in Theology with Honors from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is the author of a book on the Deposit of Faith entitled O Timothy!, published by Xulon Press in 2007.

Deacon McKeating is a practicing attorney and a part-time Administrative Law Judge for the State of New York.

Lenten Soup Suppers at Corpus Christi

While our silicone-bracelet endeavor is the first of Corpus Christi’s extra Lenten opportunities for spiritual growth, all parishioners are invited to continue their journey by coming to two simple Soup Suppers on Wednesday, March 25th and Wednesday, April 1st.
