With the walls of the new Aldi store going up, you can see how the building will fill in this corner.

I can’t believe how quickly things are built nowadays.

The photos are from the HOPE Center’s Mother’s Day Celebration that was held on Friday, May 11th.

Mom’s got their hair and nails done for free and children go to make/pick something out for Mom from the center’s craft/boutique corner.

Great work by great people!

Hollywood horror is coming to Buffalo in the biggest Convention of it’s kind to be held in Western New York, and at one of Buffalo’s most haunted landmarks! Join us on Saturday, May 26th from noon to 7pm for a Convention of all things horror, paranormal, and beyond!

Scheduled to appear at the Convention is Tyler Mane (Michael Myers from Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Sabretooth from the blockbuster movie X-Men), Leah Gibson (Nettie from Twilight: Eclipse, and The Watchmen), James Winburn (Michael Myers stuntman from the original Halloween, David Hasselhoff stunt double in Knight Rider), Lloyd Kaufman (Troma Films), Suzi Lorraine (Rated top 5 horror scream queen), Brian Cano (SyFy Channel’s Haunted Collector), Jane Riley (Ghost Hunters Academy), Rosalyn Bown (Ghost Hunters Academy), Karyn Reece (popular Psychic Medium), and many more. Over 20 guests in all will be appearing for a meet & greet!

Also making a special appearance is the cult icon Christine car from the movie Christine, and KITT from the popular TV series Knight Rider! This day long convention will also include a huge vendor floor on the main concourse that will have a wide variety of merchandise available from haunted artwork, to t-shirts, and more!

The vendor floor will also have some of the areas best paranormal groups sharing with you some of the best evidence captured in America’s most haunted locations!

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and listen to some of celebrity guests and paranormal experts that will be appearing in our lecture room. Some of the panels scheduled to take place are “Being Michael Myers” with Tyler Mane and James Winburn, “Scream Queens” Panel, Q&A with Lloyd Kaufman, ” Being a Ghost Hunters Academy recruit” panel, “Running SCARED! and the Haunted Collector” with Brian Cano, and many more!

Make sure to check out the movie screening room for some of the best in independent horror productions including a special screening of Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead with Lloyd Kaufman! Also featured are sneak previews of upcoming movies like Ombis from Deftone Pictures, and Banshee from Buffalo Nickel Productions. Many of the movies we are screening like Slime City Massacre by Greg Lamberson were filmed right at the Buffalo Central Terminal!

All of this and even a Zombie Walk for charity is happening on Saturday, May 26th from Noon to 7pm.

Last night when I was watching a video of the bells of Saint Ann’s, inspiration struck and I decided to mix available audio on the bells from Saint John Kanty, Corpus Christi, Saint Stan’s and Saint Ann’s.

For those of us who grew up in the neighborhood, the density of churches located in Broadway-Fillmore brought the sounds of church bells ringing a lot.

Don’t know if the video captures that, but it was something cool that stuck with me about growing up B-F.

Also a few months back, I posted a video about Swinburne Street and its deterioration.

Fast forward to now and there is only one house left on the Saint John Kanty side of the street after the City of Buffalo took down a bunch of houses.

There seems to be a lot of demos going on throughout the neighborhood.
