Torn Space Theater invites you to “Screened Visions” on Thursday, March 7th

From Torn Space Theater’s Facebook event page:

Torn Space opens its new studio space to the public for the first time with the premiere of a video installation by Brian Milbrand inspired by the building itself. Screened Visions will premiere on March 7, 2019 at 608 Fillmore Ave. Buffalo, NY 14212. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a reception from 6:30-7:30pm.

About Screened Visions:

A study of shape and time, this four-screen media installation looks at the view of the corner of Fillmore Avenue and Paderewski Drive through the steel fabricated screens on the new Torn Space studio building. The neighborhood buildings including St Stanislaus, a car repair shop, historic houses and empty lots all exist behind the same steel screens. The repeated circular shapes unite the variety of views and create compositions that visualize the dichotomies present in the neighborhood. Time lapse and shutter speed experiments expand time, documenting the winter weather’s ebb and flow as well as the pace of traffic on the street.

This event is FREE.

Following the reception will be a 7:30pm performance of Torn Space’s original stage adaptation of John Cassavetes’ 1976 film, THE KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE. Those attending the installation are encouraged to attend the 7:30 performance. Tickets for the performance of ‘Bookie’ may be found at www.tornspacetheater.com
