Central Terminal Open House and Party on Saturday, September 22

The Open House at the Central Terminal is in celebration of being selected as a Watch Site by the World Monuments Fund. There will be tours of the concourse and EPA award-winning Urban Habitat, and will have various groups from around Buffalo showcasing their community pride: including Urban Roots, Jericho Road Community Health Center, Broadway Market, Citizens for Regional Transit and local Boys and Girls Scout groups.

After the Open House, the Central Terminal hosting a group of preservationists from the Association for Preservation Technology International conference in Buffalo for a Celebrate the Central Terminal Party from 6-9PM.

Mayor Byron W. Brown and Assemblywoman Peoples-Stokes will be on hand for a press conference at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday at the Terminal to proclaim Sept. 22 Watch Day in Buffalo, and talk further about the building’s latest progress.

This event will also feature 6 Minute Building Stories, or 6Mbs, which is part of a larger Building Stories dialogue. 6Mbs is an informal and fun gathering featuring presentations by esteemed speakers from diverse cultural disciplines. Speakers present their building story through 18 images. The total time allotted for each slide is 20 seconds and, as the slide changes after 20 seconds, so does the related verbal content.

This event is part of the APT 2018 50th Anniversary Conference and open to the Public. The event is free; food from food trucks and drinks from the wine/craft beer reception will be available for purchase.
