Help vision the future for the Wildroot Building on Monday

The Wildroot Building. It’s hard to miss seeing from the Bailey Avenue bridge between Broadway and Walden. It’s been dormant since the 1980s. Broadway Fillmore Alive did an interview in 2015 with two local preservationists hell-bent on saving and repurposing the building. You can read the interview with Chrissy Lincoln and Mark Paradowski by clicking here—>

Their and other’s efforts will take a giant leap forward Monday, September 18th when the Wildroot Visioning Block Party takes from 4:30pm-6:30pm.

Here is info from the Facebook event page:

The Preservation League of New York State along with Buffalo’s Young Preservationists and Preservation Buffalo Niagara are inviting the public to a block party- style public meeting to discuss the fate of the historic Wildroot Building. Listed on the State’s Seven to Save in 2016-17 and eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, the Wildroot building has sat vacant for several years but holds much of Buffalo’s entrepreneurial and industrial history. There will be announcements of next steps, goals, and plans for the building as the public and neighbors share what they would like to see within the walls of the building. We will have refreshments.

It’s an opportunity for the public to come down and show support for the building and share their own ideas on the Wildroot Building.
