The Common Roots Urban Farm at Peckham and Coit Streets in the neighborhood will be hosting a Hoophouse Raising Party on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 from 9am-5pm.

From the farm’s Facebook page:

After much anticipation the hoophouse for Common Roots Urban Farm has arrived! Similar to the often heard of “Barn Raising” we will be having a “Hoophousing Raising” and we need your help!

On Saturday June 25th we will be erecting a 22’x72′ structure that will allow us to grow more at the farm, both earlier and later in the season! Many hands make light work as they say, so we are calling out to our community of family and friends to come take part in this memorable day at the farm. Besides from needing hands putting up the structure we would love to have people to document the event in pictures, play some music, (wo)man the grill or bring a dish for sharing !

We expect this day to be FUN! We will have the grill going, cold beverages, lawn chairs out! Bring the kids and the frisbee. The farm is beautiful this time if year. Feel free to stop by for an hour or stay the whole day.

This is cool stuff.
