After a devastating fire, the Market Bar is looking for help

If you haven’t heard, the Market Bar suffered a horrible and damaging fire a couple of days ago. The bar has become a music hot-spot in the neighborhood after reopening under a new owner in 2014. The bar is located at the across from the Broadway Market on Gibson Street. It is a neighborhood treasure.

From owner Jimmy Camarda’s Facebook profile:

Good morning FB and Market Bar friends, I am sorry to say that there was a fire at the Market Bar @ 6:00am this cold morning , the place is a total loss , I want to send out my thanks to everyone that supported my venture to bring Live Blues back to the City of Buffalo , I truly love each and every one of you , God Bless JC

There is now an effort to raise some cash to help jump start getting the bar reopen via GoFundMe.com.

From crowdfunding site:

hello everyone my name is Lily Camarda, setting up a go fund me for my husbands business that was in a horriable fire. Every item in here was family airlooms, original artwork, musical instruments, along with personal storage of normal necessities. Thankfully no one was hurt. Our funds would be towards bills, construction fixings, new materials to reopen or rebuild. Our goal is 9,000.00 at anytime we could use the funds. the passion people have for this Gem is astounding, I cannot explain how much Love and Support this bar has had. As Jimmy Camarda Jr. has established a Gem to shine, and it sure has.

Here is what Jimmy Camarda Jr. had to say, ” 2 Years ago I had a vision to open a small music venue in the heart of the Heart of the historic Broadway-Fillmore business district also known as historic Polonia. So I found a very rundown old Tavern that needed a ton of work. So I took this project on, some people thought I was taking on something that was impossiable to do. One year later, after working on this place 7 days a week 12-16 hrs a day The market Bar was Alive Again, With live music this time! Well after months of this business and giving the area something to talk about, Tragically on January 3rd, 2016 Fire struck this East side Gem, and do to lack of  insurance because of being a high risk for arson in this area the premiums are beyond high. So i was only able to have a small poilcy. Well it wasn’t Arson that hit the market Bar it was some old electric lines. – Thanks for Believing ” -Jimmy Camarda Jr.

We will be incredably grateful for any funds that can be contributed towards this fund. Thank you for having time to read our chapter in life here. Please send positive vibes to us. Best Regards -Market Bar.
