Get Ready for the 2nd Annual “Zupapalooza” Polish Soup Festival

The Polish American Congress, Western New York Division will be holding its 2nd Annual “Zupapalooza” Polish Soup Festival. The event will take place on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at K of C Father Justin Hall, 2735 Union Road, Cheektowaga, New York from 1 pm to 5 p.m.

Zupapalooza will feature a variety of Homemade Polish soups prepared by member organizations of the Polish American Congress including, but not limited to, The Polish Heritage Dancers, The Polish Business Woman’s Association, The Polish Saturday School, The Polish Legacy Project, Harmony Dancers and more.

For $7 advance purchase general admission for adults and $5 for children, guests will have the opportunity to purchase, at their leisure, bowls of soup from participating organizations. Rye bread/butter, beverage, and dessert will also be available. Additional soup purchases for onsite consumption or takeout will be available to all guests attending the event. Tickets at the door will be $9 for adults and $7 for children.

The event will feature a “People’s Choice” Award for best soup selected by guests. In addition, guest judges will award the “Golden Ladle Award” for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place soups. There will also be a prize awarded for “Best Decorated” soup stand/station.

Besides enjoying authentic Polish soups, guests will also enjoy Polish music, Polish beer and vodka, authentic Polish dances, Polish books/literature, Polish genealogy, and information leaflets on each group participating in the event. In addition, there will be a variety of vendors with Polish merchandise, baked goods, etc.

Zupapalooza organizer, PACWNY Director, Jim Ławicki commented on the event, “The concept of Zupapalooza was formulated to bring greater awareness and visibility of our member organizations while doing some fundraising. Its focus is authentic Polish soups. To that end, the WNY community is in for a real treat as there will be a wonderful offering of homemade Polish soups. It will be fun and educational for everyone. We are looking forward to another great event taking place during Polish Heritage Month!”
