Out of Darkness Exhibition to Benefit the Hope Center

1-Invitation-Nov 1

On November 1st, 2013, the for opening night of the Out Of Darkness: Putting a Face on Homelessness Art Exhibition will be held at Art Space, 1219 Main Street, across from Delta Sonic from 6-10pm.

The exhibition is a result of a two year collaboration between the Matt Urban Center and Gary L. Wolfe, a local artist. Mr. Wolfe met with residents in the Matt Urban Center’s Housing First program for the chronically homeless – heard their stories of homelessness, took their photograph and then painted their portraits. As you will soon see, he was able to capture the hardship of homelessness as well as their determination and resiliency.

Mr. Wolfe is generously donating 30% of the portrait sales to Hope Gardens (a new 20 Unit apartment building for chronically homeless women). Catalogs of the show will also be available for $30 each, the proceeds of which will be divided among the Matt Urban Hope Center, Restoration Society and the Homeless Alliance of WNY.
