To put everyone in a cooler mindset, this week’s item is a “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” matchbook cover from Leonard’s Barber Shop at 1095 Broadway in the heart of Buffalo’s East Side.
From the layout of the match cover and the graphics this cover dates from the 1950s to the early 1970s. I’m sure that the bucolic scene of open white spaces, a red barn, and a horse-drawn sleigh appealed to the barber who worked his entire life within the city limits of Buffalo.
