The Best time of Year in East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia

Easter @ the Broadway Market

Love this time of year in East Buffalo’s Polonia…between the Broadway Market, heritage churches and Dyngus Day, the neighborhood draws close to 500,000 during the Lenten and Easter Season.  It’s the biggest influx of people the neighborhood has all year.

What I love most about it is that it isn’t some contrived festival…people just come to share and celebrate their heritage.  There is hardly any advertising or PR work, people just know this is the place to be in the weeks leading up to Easter through Dyngus Day. It is one of the things that makes Broadway-Fillmore uniquely cool in Buffalo.

It is what helps keep the neighborhood ALIVE and brings hope to its supporters.
