Alive Photo of the Day: Wardynski’s 1920s and a Recipe

This photo comes courtesy of Wardynski’s Facebook page.  It is of their shop @ 336 Peckham Street from the 1920s.

Wardynski’s still calls East Buffalo’s Historic Polonia home 90+ years later at the same address.  Good stuff.

Added bonus to today’s photo…Wardynksi’s also posted this recipe for Polish Sausage Soup on their Facebook page…looks yummy.

Here is a recipe for Polish Sausage Soup. Enjoy

Ingredients
2 cups potatoes, cubed and peeled
4 cups cabbage and carrot coleslaw mix ( packaged)
1 large onions, chopped
2 teaspoons caraway seeds, crushed
1 lb Wardynski Smoked Polish sausage,
halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2 inch slices
4 cups fat free chicken broth

Directions
Place potatoes, coleslaw mix, onion, caraway seeds and sausage in crock pot. Pour broth over all.

Cover; cook on low for 10 – 12 hours or high for 5 – 6 hours.

Ladle in bowls.
