Central Terminal Light Fixture Returns to East Side Treasure Monday

Press Conference Monday to Welcome Back Light

After a successful community effort to raise funds to purchase an original Buffalo Central Terminal light fixture from Toronto antique dealer, it will be returning to its home on Monday, December 31, 2012 at an 11:00am press conference at this beloved East Side treasure located at 495 Paderewski Drive, Buffalo, NY 14212 .

The light fixture was picked up in Toronto from Navarro Gallery on Thursday,
The LightDecember 20, 2012. It was recently on display at the Adam Mickiewicz Library and Dramatic Circle on Fillmore Avenue for the public and donors who contributed to the effort to view.

The effort to raise the $3000 purchase price was spearheaded through East Side neighborhood group Broadway Fillmore Alive via social media after the dealer lowered their original asking price from $9000.

In a gracious twist, Roberto Navarro, owner of the gallery, decided to donate the piece and asked that the money raised for the fixture be donated to the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation’s “Adopt a Tile Program” which is aiming to replace concrete roof tiles over the main concourse of the Central Terminal.
