What a great Mass it was a Saint Adalbert Basilica yesterday…

Though our goal was attracting 200+ of the basilica’s Facebook fans, we didn’t quite reach that number. It was exciting to me though when I approached Saint Adalbert’s from Rother Street, to see a lot more cars and people than I usually see when I attend Mass there…mission accomplished.

On this Sunday morning in late July, people knew that Saint Adalbert’s was ALIVE and well.

The Mass and event was a reaffirmation of sorts to me about why I help places like Saint Adalbert’s. The basilica is an important part of the fabric that makes B-F what it is. I suspect that it was a reaffirmation to the hard working parishioners of Saint Adalbert’s who have overcome the odds and keep the parish moving along. The atmosphere was equal parts electric and divine…you cold see the excitement on the faces of parishioners.

It was wonderful to see so many “new” faces at 10:30 this morning…. As a member of the community of St Adalbert’s for almost 30 years, I want to send a great big thank you to all who came, and sincerely hope that you felt right at home in our beautiful church, and that you will come back more often, not because we ask you to, but because you want to….our parish family welcomes all with open arms and hearts….we look forward to seeing again soon….

To me, that is goal here…to have people experience places like Saint Adalbert’s, realize how incredible they are and come back.
