We never had firecrackers at my house. My mom, who lived through the war in Poland and survived bombing got not enjoyment from hearing explosions. She'd say "these people enjoying fireworks never lived through war". The next day was the same as yours with one exception - I was responsible to clean up all that mess and boy was it a mess! We lived at 63 Mohr and on the 5th of July, the entire street in front of my house was covered in firecracker and ladyfinger paper! Yes, the 4th was a great time….my dad would buy tons of fireworks (even though he was a deputy sheriff) and we would blow them off all afternoon and night.
