Buffalo’s Best Homemade Pierogi Contest Winners

Traditional Category (cheese, cheese & potato, or kapusta)
1st place - Stella Barnashuk
2nd place - Ann Marie Taft
3rd place - Eileen Elibol

Non-Traditional - open to a contestant’s creativity
1st place - The Fundalinski Family - Buffalo Wing Pierogi
2nd place - Ksenia Wojcieszek-Arjomand
3rd place - George Metzler

Dessert
1st place - Kathleen Pawlak - Strawberry (there was only one contestant in this category)

Prizes were as follows…1st place winners -$50 gift certificate for the Broadway Market2nd place winners - $25 gift certificate for Europa Bistro3rd place winners -coupons for free products from Friendship Dairies and Pillsbury, plus an ornamental sheaf of wheat, symbolizing the Harvest FestivalAll winners will be receiving certificates of their achievement by mail.

   Could the the Winner’s name be anything other than Stella ? O.k. maybe Sophie but that’s awesome and authentic as hell. Wish I had some.
