Solemnity of the Feast of Corpus Christi starts tonight…

The Solemnity begins with the FORTY HOURS DEVOTION…to honor the Eucharist we will have Forty Hours Devotion beginning on Friday at 9:00P.M. and ending on Sunday at 1:00P.M. The church will be open for adoration throughout the night and day. We encourage you to come to church and spend some quite time with Jesus.

Visitors are more than welcome during this time.  I will be at the church from 1:00 am to 3:00 am Saturday morning and 2:00 am to 4:00 am Sunday morn.  Other CC parishioners will be at the church for the remaining Forty Hours.

It is truly a unique time to come and pray.  It is hard to describe for me…this is my third year of coming to the church at the wee hours of the morning…I am amazed at the number of people who come.

On Sunday, May25…Corpus Christi Church will join with St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church in Buffalo to commemorate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Our parish, which bears the name of Corpus Christi, will celebrate the occasion with a solemn High Mass beginning at 1:30 pm. Music for this celebration will be sung in Polish and English.

Please note there will NOT be any other morning Masses on this day so we can all join together as a parish community.

Following the Mass, a procession will begin at Corpus Christi Church (3:00 pm) and proceed to St. Stanislaus Church. The procession is a significant ritual that involves bringing God into the community through the streets where people live and work, underscoring the Catholic faith that God dwells among us. Especially in recent years, hundreds of Western New Yorkers have commemorated this important event by participating in the outdoor church procession on Buffalo’s East Side.

It is truly something special to see and particpate in.
