There are several cities that are somewhat successfully dealing with urban renewal that are selling places very cheap to committed parties. There's a plaque in Baltimore's waterfront about how it is a model for urban renewal for the rest of the country to follow. The city shouldn't be trying to make money off of these small organizations but rather grateful that people are willing to save doomed structures and save them the money of the demolition and taxes lost!

There were several interested parties.. A special thank you to Brian Higgins building inspector & COB rep in Housing court..
IMHO it doesnt matter that the Sattler theatre is not technically in the Fillmore district.. on Broadway, on the East Side.. its all the same.. To have this beauty saved from the wrecking ball is terrific news :)

Close enough - certainly in the Broadway district. Let's just be grateful that it's a great step for the general neighborhood!
