At least two times a year Broadway and Bailey is tranformed into a soap box racer’s paradise…utilizing the stretch of Bailey between Broadway and Walden because of the bridge which takes traffic over the railroad, it is an ideal area to race…I got a chance to check it out on Sunday…there were racers from all around Western New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

The above video is from yesterday’s rally.

The event is part of the national All-American Soap Box Derby organization and is run locally by Jacob Pearson…the mission of the organization is “To teach youngsters some of the basic skills of workmanship, the spirit of competition and the perseverance to continue a project once it has begun.”

Cool Stuff…
