Endangered Property – Old Sears Building

This attractively modern and simply designed building has unfortunately been vacant for more than 2 years. It was originally built as a Sears department store and was used as that until the late 1950’s. It last use was as a regional Department of Labor office.

I would describe its overall condition as very good. Some minor cosmetic work is needed to the exterior (scrape/repaint window sashes and underside of canopy, replace a couple of cracked windows). We are unable to see much of the interior space, but it appears dry. As far as we can determine from our research, no efforts have been or are being made to sell or lease this property. We are attempting to contact the owner to obtain more information on its planned future.
